Linda Newville is the daughter of a storyteller and a computer scientist. She was raised in California, in a town with two government labs, one of which employed her father behind a secure gate. Her mother was a school celebrity, known for a colorful apron with large pockets and a story to be told for each of the puppets inside.

Linda loves the absurd. She keeps a file of the strangest news she reads. People fascinate her in their frailty, absurdity and heroism. She hopes that someday she can be frail, absurd and heroic along with the best of them.
